If you got kids, you are going to love this... Make sure every one has a trinket or bobble to traid when you go, Pack a picknic lunch....

I will most cirtainly keep you up to date as to how I do. I ordered me a travel bug I should be receiving that soon. and will be getting that fishing bug out on the water Asap...

I beleive that book can be found on their site as well for any one else intrested.

Thanks for joining in on this topic. I have been at it for only a year and only have had my own gps unit for a couple weeks now. My pup sure likes it, she has never got to spend so much time in the woods since I started this hobby.

Be sure when you get started that you dont give away any spoilers.... It takes the fun out of other peoples hunts. but hearing that it is found once in a while is incuraging.[Wink]

What state are you going to be hunting out of?

Since I have been doing this I have found out we have several get togethers in my area through out the year....

I have met some realy great people while out there, and have shared a few hunts.... not alway successful... but had a great time.

I'll mostly be searching in Arkansas, but travel to Florida and Wisconsin yearly. What I love is that anywhere we go, we have the oppurtunity to geocache. How cool is that. My 6 year old is so excited to start treasure hunting! She been collecting trinkets to put in the cache.
I'll let you know how it goes!!

here he is, my vary first travel bug. his name is BigFish #1

I manufactured him out of half inch plexiglass, mounted Bigfish bumpersticker on his side and riveted the dog tag on to his mouth, the tag can spin down to be read from the back side.

he has a brother and a sister following close behind him.

here is a bug comming your way[shocked][shocked][shocked]

Recently Spotted: In the hands of the owner.

Current GOAL: BigFish 1 This bug has BigFish fever, and the only way to cool it down is to take him fishing. He has the constant need of having his picture taken with anglers holding their fish, So if you pick him up, be sure to have a fishing rod and digital camera in hand and be ready to share fishing stories ..... If you Pick up this bug and wish to move him, be sure to take him to another place where he can go fishing ..... BigFish 1 has the goal of fishing all fifty states, he likes all kinds of fishing, and if you cant take him to another lake to fish you may take him fishing where you found him log that you took him fishing and take a picture and place him back where you found him. In other words, if you are not going to take him fishing please leave him where you have found him. BigFish 1 is a patient bug but turns in to a nervous bug if he doesn’t get in to some fishing action.....

About this item:
Manufactured out of 1/2 inch duriblle plastic to live for a good long time, (he will need to in order to reach his goal) ..... He is 6 3/4 inch in lenth and 4 1/5 inch in hight ..... Dog Tag is riveted to his mouth and can spin to reveil the tracking number on the back.

I will be releasing him in to the wide world of fishing tomarow....

If you would like to track BigFish 1 you can follow his every movement using this tracking number TBHCH0.

click watch this travel bug.... and an email will be sent to you every time he makes a move...

I will give an acount of his adventures here for those who do not know what is going on....

It is late in the season so I dont realy expect him to go any where soon, but you never know, some one may be planning a fishing trip out of state and need a fishing buddy [Wink]

Opening day of trout season is just a couple months away and his hiding spot is just a couple hundred yards from some 3-5 thousand anualy planted trout on the river

since the state cutbacks this park closes its gate after it snows till thaw or spring. So Bigfish1 wont be going any where till spring.

if you know the site to go to you can use this number to track his adventures TBHCH0. you can then you can select "watch this bug" then any time some one moves this bug you will get an email

If you dont know what site to go to let me know.

thanks for the intrest, I went to grab the tracking number for you and found that Bigfish1 has its first fan. Wooo HOOO!!!!

[#800000]Hi,
I'm Bobbie Wilson from the Roseville Parks and Recreation Department. [/#800000] [#800000]While discovering Geocaching at an MRPA convention in Traverse City, through a presentation by the Michigan Geocaching Organization, we decided that it would be great to start geocaching in our own community. With an abundance of help from MIGO Park Outreach Coordinators, who are also Roseville residents, [/#800000][#800000]Gary & Donna (Team CoyChev)[/#800000][#800000], we would like to introduce our new Geocaching program to our residents and the geocaching community. My husband, daughter and I are newly "hooked" geocachers, now known as [/#800000][#800000]WilsonExplorers3[/#800000][#800000].
You're invited to help launch Geocaching in our community. We've placed many permanent caches for you to find. A story about geocaching, with information about this event, has been published in local papers and on the local Cable channel.. [/#800000][#000080]
[/#000080] [#000080]Funding to start our geocaching program was provided by the "Healthier Macomb Fitness Council".[/#000080]

[#800000]
[/#800000][#808080]Highlights of our program:

1. Geocaches placed throughout the city highlighting historic facts, our parks, our senior center and various
city programs. All city offices/departments have become involved.
[/#808080]
[#808080]2. A few GPS units have been purchased for a short-term loan, to local residents, to try geocaching.
3. Local cacher contact numbers to provide support to newbie cachers.
4. Geocaching 101 classes to be offered to area residents.

[/#808080][#800000]
This is a RAIN or SHINE event!
Where: We'll initially meet at the coords listed above, (Roseville Parks & Recreation Community Center). Then
we'll meet for lunch at Dooley Park at N42 31.089 W082 57.298 to share caching stories and some laughs.
When:
Saturday July 30th 10:00am to 5:00pm or later.
What: * 10:00am: A "Geocaching 101" class, by Team CoyChev, presented for newbie's,
but everyone is invited to attend.
* 11:00am: Meet and greet social.
* 11:30am: Geocache hunt; we'd like seasoned cachers to be "mentors" for the new cachers who will attend. Meet a newbie and take them along to search for the newly placed permanent caches. (coordinates available at the event). This is our chance to show just how great our MiGO members are!
* 2:00pm: A potluck lunch; [/#800000]

[#000080]There is no electricity at this site; we'll provide hot dogs, buns, pop, & chips.
* More fun in the works!
* There are hundreds of caches to find in southeastern Michigan after attending this event.
* Restroom facilities at the site.
Bring: chairs, FRS Radio (Channel 2), also something for the prize table if you wish. [/#000080]
[#ff0000]When posting your "Will Attend", please include the number of people attending and any food item you may bring.[/#ff0000] [#ff0000][/#ff0000] [#ff0000]Just look at all the bugs that are there already...[/#ff0000] [#ff0000][/#ff0000] [#ff0000] [Image: 21.gif] Travel Bugs have been seen in this cache -

That is excellent. i've had him on my watch list, he getting to go to some fun fishin holes! I know he'll be a hit at the party. It is so cool the township is having a launch. I hope someone brings him south, they stocked our lake with bass and brim last year. If he gets to Arkansas I'll take him fishing. Have fun!
