This is way up in Wyoming, Upper Firehole.
I used fishy canned cat food for for bait, 25 to 50 cents a can.

I counted 17 in one trap, and 18 in the other, on a overnight soak.
I did about the same the next night.

This shows you the size, and is a serving suggestion.

A look at my yatch. Dealing two traps of snapping and hissing dads was a handful.

Here is a different spot, Lowes Bay, near stateline.

Pretty lazy, I tossed one trap from shore into 5 feet of water right
in my campsite. One trap yielded more than two traps had before.
I estimated 50+ big dads.

One on the loose. I actually released all of these, I wasn't staying, and I had my fill for the week.

Nice!
Are those traps collapsible? Where did you get 'em? How much?

[cool]Those are the biggest crawdads I've ever seen...from these parts anyway! Those look like Southern crawfish. Wish they got that big in 'da berry! Anyway, those pics are making me hungry. Gotta get my butt up to Soldier Creek soon to get me a huge mess of them!

They do collapse, and that is the only reason I chose that design (Promar TR-503), easier storage.
No way are they as durable as the wire traps, but at $12 each they are pretty cheap.
I got them at one of my favorite shopping sites:
