The DWR needs volunteer to assist kids to learn how to fish at the Utah State Fair. The kids go through a 20-30 minute class about fishing/fish. They than will get to fish in the pond for up to 30 minutes or catch one fish. The fish in the pond will be largemouth bass, bluegill, yellow perch and channel catfish. The volunteer duty will start a 4:00pm and end at 8:00pm each night. Roughly 100 total volunteers are needed. Volunteers will ber provided a free pass for the day they volunteer. Please contact the DWR at 538-4806 to sign up. For those interested, please respond ASAP because there is come mandatory paperwork that needs completed before the Fair.

[cool][#0000ff]Lindy is back. She called me and sweet talked TubeBabe and I to work the "combat" shift...the last night of the fair on the 17th. Supposedly that is the heaviest traffic. I also suspect that the poor fishies in the tank have become semi traumatized by then.[/#0000ff]

I asked TD about helping out even though we really don't know a whole lot about fishing. Were going to try and take a fishing 101 from him and help out next summer but if we could be useful now for the fair (even though we'd be learning along with whatever kids were there) we'd love to volunteer.

Give Lyndi a call and sign up. You will recieve an information packet in the mail that tells you every thing that you will need to know. There will also be a quick lesson for all the volunteers each night before it starts.
