[black][size 3]I'm not too sure, but it sounds like it might be one heck of a fish finder.[/size][/black]

[cool][#0000ff]Not sure the make and model, but it is some kind of side-scan sonar. There have been pictures of the screen on a couple of newscasts that show the bottom as red and "targets" as white objects...usually with a dark "shadow" on the side opposite the origin of the sonar beam.[/#0000ff]

Here is a sonar image posted on kutv website showing the 1st body they located which turned out to be a person who drowned in Aug of 2001. It is obviously a body and the head, body, arm, and legs can be clearly made out and you can tell it is laying on its right side.

[cool]That's crazy man. Like I mentioned in the other thread on Strawberry (did it get deleated??) when you think about how many boat accidents have probably happened there in the past 80+ years, and the limited technology/equipment available for years and years, not to mention if any "missing persons/murdered bodies" might be in there, there could LITERALLY be dozens of bodies at the bottom of that lake...Careful where you drop your anchor, boys...

Sure is amazing what they are finding. Hard to believe they haven't found the 2 most recent victims. It's good for the other families to have some closure though.

LOL!
I remember when those three guys went down in '95. I hope that it's them.
They wouldn't want to do a similar grid search in Lake Mead. My bro-in-law (an attorney in Vegas) says that he thinks there are lots of bodies with "concrete shoes" in the depths there.
