"urban" ice fishing
#1
Hit Willow pond this morning and found it 80% solid. found thin ice around the pier punched a hole with the butt of my long rod and dropped a pink rat finkee tipped with a waxie. watched 15 or so slimers chase it down. stayed pretty much non stop catching for an hour or so was pretty fun sight fishing for bigger than average bows.

Thanks for posting your report Nugs. That sounds a little scary though, if you can punch a hole with the butt of your rod, it must be very thin ice[unsure]. I guess the ice was thicker where you were standing but be careful out there, would hate to hear of anyone going through the ice out there. WH2

Yeah, that pond's been fun as of late. Yesterday I got one of those big brookies to hit in a little patch of open water. Kinda interesting finessing him onto the ice with 4# line.
