Me and a friend went to farmington the last two days of the duck hunt,Friday we got to the spot (I thought we where going to hunt)and found it frozen solid,we dumped the boat in and tried to break through but it was to thick and we pulled out to try to find some open water,we found some on the SE entrance and finally got set up by noon,at around two we had a vistor that swam right by me within about ten feet,I held still and got the camera out and shot this pick just as he got out of the water.we ended up with 2pinnies,1drake spooner(My buddy shot that)and 5green wing.We set the goose decoys to far out or I would of had my first goose of the season,oh well.
On Saturday we got out and set up by 8:30AM,no one was in are spot but alot of guys where putting in the last day,we set up in a different spot and thought we would do a little better, well we didn't even get a shot tell 2:00PM when a drake pinnie snuck ito the goose decoys.well we took a few more shots by the end we had two nice drake pintails, and five greenwings, missed a few shots and red heads that came zipping threw.
a good end to a great season, huntings over its time to fish!

Hey FF,
Glad you got the Pinnies to deek in. Last week at Ogden bay they were really spooky. We could not get them to deek in at all. Some beautiful males were flyin around. I love the pinnies. They are a sweet lookin bird.
Nice report

Hey Riley,They where a little decoys shy but if you use the right call they bomb in like crazy,I found a good call this year and have not had a problem getting them in shooting range, actually we have been able to pick out the birds we wanted and then shot them,The call is called the high roller i think its made by primo, sounds assume.
LH2 that sounds fun, lets get something set up,I shot both shotguns and .22's it just matters how thick the sage brush is and if we hunt hillsides.lets talk and get a date set and go for it.
Later,FNF[cool]
