Nice fish and one of the reasons I don't post anymore about it is because it is small and too close to the Greater Salt Lake area . I sure hope it can stand the heat now .

[black]Big browns sure are sweet fish. Can't say I'm not drawn to them. Congrats to your work buddy. I sure hope a fine fish like that got released to fight again.[/black]

I used to fish that res. all the time. That's where I took my toon on it's maiden voyage 7 years ago. Those browns out there sure can be finicky. I've only caught one that was big, yet smaller than that one. Nice fish for sure, won't see another one of those come through the ice. I did hook into a bruiser bow one spring while doing my trig. homework on the shore. It was released and I hope it's still in there.

awesome! thanks for sharing that pic! when i was a kid we were fishing out there and a guy came in from his boat and showed us a nice brown on his stringer that was similar. (but, not quite that big) i tried and tried to catch one like that, but the best grantsville ever gave me was a 3 lb bow on a fly.
again, thanks for sharing the pic!

[cool]WOW! What a gorgeous brownie!! I've always heard stories of big browns in that lake, but have personally never fished it. I've heard that the crawdading there is phenominal too. Maybe I'll have to fish it from my tube while I've got my traps in the water this summer...

I have fished this lake the last two weeks. I talking with an older gentleman who fishes there 3 times a week, he told me some browns have been coming out. He also told me the lake is loaded with carp now.
I caught 4 browns and while I was there he caught a brown and a rainbow. No real size to them.
On the weekend the lake was just covered with fishermen, it is getting pounded pretty hard.

Wow, If I'm gonna fish Grantsville, "I'm gonna need a bigger auger".
I can see a crayfish, toon combo coming in the summer. Does the sheriff patrol more now? After that shooting last year I crossed it off my list. It would be a nice place to check out when I go to the the LeMans races at Larry Millers track out there.

WOW that is a nice fish. Some of my friends and i use to go up above there and play paint ball, I never figured it for much of a fish producer.

I live about 5 minutes from the resevoir and spoke with the Conservation officer that patrols Tooele County. He said that it was 8lbs, not sure about the length. Most of the fish caught in Gville are rainbows, but every once in a while there is a nice brown that comes out of there. The crayfish keep them fed well.
The resevoir has been getting slammed lately since they posted a pic up at the hardware store.[unsure]

The dest part of this story is the illegal introduction of smallmouth bass to Granstville.
We can all kiss future brown's like the one in the picture good bye...
