OK this weekend I have an anual friendly fishing contest between a few good friends and myselfe. Every year we find a random lake and the 6 of us go out for the weekend and see who can out fish who the last two years I have won the pool and this year I am hopein for a repeat we fish for Northern Pike and I was wonderin if anyone had any tips to help me out I'm the only one in the group without electronics normaly i drill a hole and place a 5 gallon bucket over it to find structures but the lake this year is to merky and deep for that and at the moment cash is to tight to buy anything so if anyone could help it would be much apperaciated.[Wink]

I take it you are fishing in a no live bait regeion.

use your graft map if you have one, if not use the trebble 1 inch below a half ounce sinker, drop down a hole and attept to snag a weed. Pull it up see what you got.

keep drilling over to the side or out towards the drop off. Find a spot near the weed bed and a depth of 5-8 feet.

Use a tip up or a rod and reel with the drag set loose enough for a blue gill to run with it. drop an Unkle Joe brand shiner on a set line.
