I may have the chance to do a little night fishing tomorrow. I was thinking of hitting Utah Lake or Jordanelle. I've never tried the ice at night. Any tips? I've heard that the perch don't really bite after dark. What about the other species in the above lakes? Thanks in advance for the help.

I fished at night aruound the pumphouse a few weeks back and I didn't even see anything on the finder until about an hour after dark and at least that night the bite started to really be consistant at around 9:00 -9:30. I don't know if it was a fluke or what, but it seemed to be a lot better at night for me at least. I just wish I would have remembered a lantern or something. All I had was my cellphone and it doesn't put off too much light. It was still a lot of fun though,

night fishing can be the most effective way to target crappie through the ice. a light is a must. Utah lake would be a good choice for that or go north to pineview

well the 2 lakes you have chose would be as good as any for a night fishing trip..
jordanelle you would be going after brown's and rainbows.. you are right about the perch tho. if your going for perch stay home at night they dont bite at night!
now utah lake that a wonder land at night.. most all the fish in there will bite at night! except the perch that is. but the beat time for fishing walleye is at night white bass bite good as well..
good luck to ya!
