[black]One of my best friends passed away this week. A person could not have asked for a better companion in life. I have indeed been fortunate to have merited such a companion. Everyone should have the opportunity to have a friend such as Shamus. [/black]

"Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring--it was peace." - Milan Kundera

Congrats on 12 years of unconditional love and companionship. I am sorry for your loss, i wouldn't wish that on anyone............

I can relate to the hard times that you are going through. I have had two dogs that lived to a ripe old age and when you lose them it leaves you with a terrible empty feeling. The are the best companions. The only complaint I have is they don't live long enough. My oldest dog will be ten this year and I hope I will have a few more good years with her. Try to remember all the good times. gshorthair

[cool][#0000ff]Hey Chuck, I knew from talking with you that the end was near. But, as with family, losing a longtime special animal is tough, even when it is expected.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]We have all been there, but that does not make it any easier when it happens more than once. If anything, it gets worse.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]You mentioned that you might get a new dog (or two). When the time is right that will probably be the best form of therapy.[/#0000ff]
