[cool][#0000ff]The only restrictions on night fishing might be on small community ponds or private lakes. Otherwise, virtually all waters are open to fishing 24/7.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Night fishing can be great for some species...on some waters. One noteable exception is fishing for perch. As a common prey species they tend to be active during daylight hours but usually hide out at night to avoid walleyes and other nocturnal predators.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]In Willard, night fishing can be great for catfish, walleyes and wipers. But, you gotta find the fish first. You can't catch them where they ain't. And, just like daytime fishing, the fish are going to be either active, neutral or negative. If the timing is right, and the fish are active and feeding, you catch them.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]It pays to know the waters you are fishing and the species you are targeting. They usually act differently at night and may be in different places than you find them in the daylight. That is usually a function of where there food is. If they eat shad, and the shad move shallow at night to do their feeding, then the predators will follow the prey. I have caught fish in less than two feet of water at night on Willard, when you had to fish them at the bottom of the deepest holes during the day.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]No magic and no universal answers. Conditions change with the seasons, weather patterns, moon phase, temperatures, water clarity and baitfish movements. You just need to know where the fish will be, what to use and how to present it. Simple? Yes. Easy? Never. [/#0000ff]

I think many of the parking areas at EC are for "Day Use Only" saying parking from 10pm to 6am (or something like that) is not allowed. But I have seen many boats out past that.

Be sure to carry lots of bug spray if you plan on fishing Willard at night.

Bug spray only helps with the skeeters and the ones that are bad right now are the gnats and such. DON"T OPEN YOUR MOUTH!!![crazy]
