Friday, 06/08/07- Hit the water about 5:00pm. What a great day to solo!

Smooth as glass!
Headed into Hole 33. Couple of guys kicking around in floattubes tossing lures. Noticed some surface action around a small island and moved in to check it out. A school of small stripers were rounding up a ball of tiny shad. Tossed in a small Zara Puppy and landed a nice two pounder. Continued following the stripers around until they left the area. Ended up with four nice fish and a lure with a bent hook.

Anchored at the edge of the channel, chummed a ton, and started soaking cut bait with two poles.

Added seven more to the box.
Sun started to sink, pulled anchor and slowly motored to Las Vegas Wash. The entire wash seemed to be filled with shad. It looked like raindrops were hitting the water around the shoreline. Soon the stripers moved in. It was AWESOME! As the light faded, a school of stripers would surface and feed. I would use the trolling motor to move within casting range and toss a small popper in the mix. This action continued well after dark, and resulted in several more fish in the box. I was the only one in the area. It was great!

Night stripers on deck!
Nice, dark ride back to the marina. Off the water by 9:45pm.
Can't wait to do it again!
