[black]Once you get your shack, you're going to get tried of hand pulling it. You'll end up getting some motorized vehicle to pull it and boo your fish! LOL![/black]

Hey ash sorry I missed you guys this weekend. If I would have known you were up there I would have come looking for you. I sold a guy here at work something called a trophy lodge a few years ago and he still has it sitting in my RV parking next to the boat. Its a portable shelter that folds in half, takes about 15 seconds to set up and is 8'x7'x6' tall. I also use a 6 footer when fishing larger fish through the ice and had no problem when in the lodge. You can actually put a cot in one half of it and spend the night. Quite comfortable actually, I slept on the ice many night in it. With a small heater it stays 85 plus in there and the best part is it is easy to move around. If you want I'll see if he still is planning on getting it sometime or if he might want to part with it for a dollar or two. PM me and let me know. Tight lines.

I'll bet your 6 foot rod would work in one of these "Affordable Retractable Wheel Fish Houses"![/#002850]

Let's hope the Resource Bar suffers the same fate as the annoying panther did and soon. May both rest in peace![cool]

its a house boat for ice fishing. to cool. grumpy old men arent very grumpy in those. [ ] its funny here how no one drives out on the thicker ice. once at the berry i saw a ramchager drive out at jakes bay clear over by the island noles stoped opened his doors drilled holes and fish from the truck seats. ice was 12 inches where i was fishing. i thought he was insane. ken

Sunken trucks might make for some pretty good structure on the mack humps, and keep the trollers off too![ ] The fish could hide inside the cab when they got tired of fishermen dropping crap on their heads.

lol, thats one place i wouldnt even attempt to drive out on. and as for the cab, those fish are edgeucated enough to drive it back to me lol. and i hope their still biting. ive talked to the guys at work and the said their both going.so heads up if you need to change plans from two too three. now im just trying to teach them the law of my land, and that there not going to put it on the wall, skin mount enyways.

Jon: Sounds good on the 3. No big dead ones. (and still biting--it's gonna get tough sometime soon, but not yet)
And I didn't even consider the fact that the macks would be driving around down there. Talk about being tough to find, and when we did locate the truck full of them, they'd have the windows rolled up! LOL
Guess everyone will have to stick to Burbot shacks! I'm surprised Ash doesn't have a snowcat, as much time as he spends on the ice. Trade in the boat for an ice-condo! Put a camper on skis and tow it with a snowmobile? Cheaper than a boat!

I've thought about cutting the bottom out of a 6-man dome tent, and camping out on the ice. Anyone try that, too insane?

I made the same one about 5 yrears ago for right around $100. It's way too heavy to pull very far by hand but if your using a snowmobile or atv it's worth every penny. Lots of room and sturdy as can be in high winds. I use it exclusively at scofield. I keep it at our cabin up there cause I got sick of hauling it around in the bed of my truck.

Good on ya ol' buddy. Let me know how the build goes. I might slap one together too. Looks handy for the quick trip.
2" of ice? Nope you'd never find me dancing on 2 inches of ice. Not me, I'm not that crazy!! [ ]
As for the yellow tarp,, you aint hard to spot,, lol!
Oh btw, Randy is right, only whimps,, and I'll add ((the mildly sane)) will use a santy on FG at night. HA!
