Fishing in Pismo with pics

[black][black] Yea I know I am about a month behind but my camera was down and i needed to fix it before I could transfer pictures.

Well I was not able to do any surf fishing however we did go out with a group on a long range trip for rock fish. The boat pretty much limited out, there were no real huge lings boated. My mom had an excellent one that came un-buttoned at the rail. It was about 30 inches. Pretty much it was Myself, mom, dad, the wife and her father that went fishing. Neither my father-in-law or my wife had ever been out on the big blue salty to fish. After a long boat ride we got to the reef we were fishing and it was a bit on the choppy side. We were mostly using live Anchovies for bait, I tried a little iron but no luck, who ever the iron did seem to get my in the bigger reds, I think they would attract off it and hit the live chovy above it. We ended up boogieing pretty quickly as the winds came up to about 20 knots. the skip said it was luckily we did not have to bad of swell just those in the 6-8 foot range mad for a rough couple of hours motoring back to the marina. the guide service we wnet with was Patriot Fishing out of Aveala, the crew and the skipper were all very good and helpful. I would go out with them again if I were in the area. Here are a few pics, my dad ended up chumming instead of fishing, the swells got to him, to bad maybe next time he will bring the dramamine. It was pretty cool on the way down the coast we saw a few wales breaching, god I love to watch them.

[/black][/black][black][black]on a side note there are two things my mom rarely does 1 is touch fish, and the second is touch fish. She new that if she wanted to fish she was going to have to grab those little guys her self. We were proud of her. When we got back to the condo we had our selves a huge ol fish fry, man were they tasty.

Im glad to see that you got well introduced with the local fauna of the Big Blue Salt Lake. Nice Reds, Chucks and Bankies. Too bad about the Ling Cod or Dino Cod as we call them.

Hopefully we can meet up on the next trip out and I can give you some more pointers on how to catch those guys too.[cool]
