today we went over to state land at 6 am,it was just 2 of us,me and the newbe to deer hunting,my other buddy that got the spike yesterday had to go to that 4-letter word,work.as we were walking through the field towards the wood line,a doe jumped up.i had lead,so i stopped motion to the new guy,to head over to the side of the field, in the direction that the doe wanted to go.which he did.the doe wasn't too nervous ,she would put her head down,and then pick it up,knowing that i was there.i was trying to get a head shot,but she was slowly walking and putting her head down,the weed in this field in some spots go to my shoulder,and i am 6ft.tall.i really wanted my buddy to get his first deer,so i gave up on the shot,motioned him to move up alittle.the deer attention was still on me,i waited to he was in a good position,i started to move.the deermade a bound,then walked,anouther bound,not to fast thoughshe got near the wood line,and he had a good shot,nothing!!! he froze,she ran into the woods.i explained to him,that he had to fire the gun,the deer will not fall down just pointing the gun at him,lol.we got out at 12 he had to work,and i had a wood delivery to make.so i got done at 2 headed over to private land,i went to a different location,and wouldn't you know i had the same 2 yearlings come out,the 2 combined might go 50 pounds.still no mommy.watched them for about 1/2 hr.then headed home

] I would have liked to see the look on your face when no shots rang out. If it was a ten pointer you probably would have had to pick him up after he fainted. LOL Better luck today.
