Causey/ pineview
#1
Took a sunday drive today up to Causey. There is alittle ice forming in the east finger and in the skull crack finger. Not much, but it is starting to form.

Pineview on the other hand has no ice, and I couldn't see where any was starting to form on the edges.

The good thing is that both resivoirs are right near their usual water depth for the winter. They are both down a bit, but not rediculously low like Rockport, Echo, and East Canyon.

I still think it will be Christmas or mabye the week before until the local lakes are safe.

What was the snow like? Slip and slide to the shore or was it thawed out? Really low water still at Pineview?
Thanks for the report.

Pretty low and not alot of snow. I was on Ant Flat yesterday and there was barely enough snow to ride a trail sled on the road. I also stopped at causey and pineview and saw exactly what Trav did. A tiny amount of ice forming in the extreme ends of bays and not much else. A few more weeks and we'll be doin it.[Wink]

[cool]Hey Brody, I seem to remember you and Tubedude fishing it a week or two before Christmas last year and knocking the crap outta the crappies and perch. Is that about right with the dates? With more snow on the way this weekend and lows down in the teens in the valley next week, I would think that this should speed up the ice making on 'da view. I'd sure like to get into those fish there this year...I'll have to see if my people can get a hold of your people...

[cool][#0000ff]My first ice trip on Pineview last winter was on Jan. 2. Brand new super slick ice. I think Brody had been up there one or two days before, but it was not frozen until after Christmas.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I am headed up there with a tube this morning. Leaving the auger and ice cleats. Will post later.[/#0000ff]
