Simms are the best with a close second being Cabelas Guidewaders. They will last for many years with care. On a per year basis top of the line waders will end up being less expensive to own and won't fail a little at a time. Leaking more and more. Ripping as you walk, or just feeing chintzy. My Simms are eight years old. I have sent them in twice for free checkups. Both times they were perfect but they sent them back cleaned and like new....for free!

[black]Ducks Unlimited only sponsors other manufacturers products. They don't have products of their own.[/black]

The waders that they sell currently are mostly neoprene, of a variety of thicknesses.

They are actually a product of "Mad Dog", and are manufactured by Sterns, not a producer of well known, quality waders.

[black]Rubber waders are not too bad in the winter, but are a real sweat box in warmer weather.[/black]
I would strongly suggest a pair of breathable waters, which can be worn in total comfort during the summer, and in the winter with additional layers of clothing under them.

Simms do produce a great wader, and it's been my experience that they wear like iron, if properly cared for.

Not sure about Ducks Unlimited waders, but I do use Cabelas Guideplus waders. I have used them for two and half seasons now and they've held up well. At the end of this year I thought I had a leaky seam, and used aquaseal on the seam but it did'nt help. In the time I have had them, I have never washed them. I am thinking they suffer from "wetting out" it is only in the seat where my backside makes contact with the float tube seat. I am going to try and launder them and put some kind of waterproofing on them for next year. Overall, I am very happy with them and would buy another pair of Cabelas waders.
