Pound for pound, the baddest thing in freshwater is a Striped bass. In salt water, well, a Marlin is a beast for obvious reasons; look how big it is. But a hard hitting game fish in a reasonable sense, I would have to say Jack Creval, or Amberjacks. Anything in the "Jack" family.

Saltwater I'd say, swordfish, tarpon and larger Bluefin Tuna.
