Utah Board Moderator Changes 2/19/08
#1
[cool][#0000ff]First of all, thanks to all of the members...new and old...who have helped the Utah BFT boards to grow into the premier fishing forums they are today.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]In November 2007, we went to a 4-man "mod squad" for Utah. Since then, Petty4Life moved over to assume maderating duties on Freeform Fishing. Now, OldCoot has decided to bow out, because of heavy personal obligations that prevent him from devoting the time and attention to the boards that he would like to. He will remain an active contributor to BFT Utah, but will just not be a moderator. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Sorry...no elections this time. We don't need any more "LOSERS". (Sorry, PBH) We have conducted individual interviews and held admin "caucuses" to help select who we feel are most qualified and deserving, and who will do the best job for the functions we must perform. No...you need not worry about Hillary. She didn't even get into the first round.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Your two new Utah mods will be Wiperhunter2 and Fishhound. WH2 is one of our most senior Utah members and a regular contributor. He is a knowledgeable Utah angler and is well qualified to help wherever needed. Fishhound is also a longtime Utah member, with extensive angling experience and good computer skills. He has agreed to assist me as the "librarian"...to gather Utah fishing information and links and to help build and maintain our Reference and Archives boards.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Kentofnsl and myself will still be on board. I am sure that some of our detractors and a few rowdies will not be happy with that. Tough beans. Deal with it.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I have also agreed to assume some responsibilities in BFT administration. In addition to monitoring many other BFT boards, I will be working to build a few of the new boards recently acquired by our parent company. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Please join me in extending your congratulations and appreciation to our new mods. I am sure they will do a great job and that they will help keep our boat tracking true.[/#0000ff]

Should be a good addition to the moderators. I've not had the chance to fish with Curt, but he has been around a long time, and seems like a good guy. The fishhound and his little puppies are welcome in my fishin' party any time! We'll miss the input Ralph has given though.

[size 3]With few exceptions, during my short stay here, I have noticed an improving, more informative forum.[/size]

Congrats new mods and thanks to those retiring. This forum has greatly increased my personal fishing efficiency and knowledge and I have no doubts that the quality of this board will continue.

Maybe this is an inappropriate question, but I have to ask: What are the perks to being a mod? Compensation, free stuff, the love of power[Wink]?? Just wondering, not complaining at all.

[cool][#0000ff]No monetary compensation...just all the abuse we can eat.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]Why Ken, when I read your complimentary comments on "the other board" I got the impression that you would never visit us again...since you were so FREE of the "evil empire".[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]You are always welcome. You do have good stuff to contribute.[/#0000ff]
