Perch at Rockport

I am taking my father up Ice fishing for the first time since he was young, and would be interested in any feedback on where to catch some perch. I have a good spot for trout, but I would like to catch some perch if you dont mind sharing. If you would like, you can PM me. I am really excieted to get my dad out on the ice, so I want him to have some success.

Where I have had success is about 500 yards directly out from the boat ramp offset at about 11:00 o clock. Right there should be close to 60 feet of water. That is where I have had success with perch everytime. There seems to be a little ledge there and all the perch are accumulated just off that ledge. I used a glow jig tipped with waxwomr first then perch eyes. Good luck!

I fished Rockport last Saturday and caught lots of perch in 28-35' off the rock hill just North of the 2nd West turnout. The ice was good for walking then. The ice was about 12" thick and perch were everywhere. I had more bites with Rat finkie jigs, orange and green size 6. Used earthworms, mealies and waxies. Did best with waxies and took home a limit, 8-10", caught (3) trout all off the bottom. Saw some elevated off the bottom but got no hits. We were about 4-500 yds off the West shore. Good luck.
