East canyon is totally ice free and fishing is really fast for pan size bows and some bigger. Fish the inlet close to the big rock with powerbait from shore or tube jigs tipped with power bait from a boat.

Lost creek is still about 30% capped, but you can access the whole lake and all the edges are ice free. I fished it on Saturday and didn't catch one fish. I would try down by the inlet if I was you, I saw a guy down there that looked like he was doing well. Try throwing a worm or maybe a fly and bubble, some fish were feeding off of the top.

I was at EC Sunday, and caught a limit from shore in 2 hours using Rainbow PowerBait. Saw others having similar success. A good place to catch dinner.

Any ideas on the road from SLC over to East Canyon? Is it open yet? Or still closed for the winter?

As of last Sunday (4/27) the sign going through Morgan said it was still closed.

STILL CURIOUS IF THE WARM WEATHER MIGHT HAVE WARRANTED THE ROAD OPENING FROM SALT LAKE. SOUNDS LIKE A SWEET PLACE TO LET THE KIDS GET THEIR LINES WET.[Smile]

Water levels are rising fast. I have been up there two or three times in the last 3 weeks. Fishooker has been up a few more times than that. Everytime I have been up there, the trout are stacked off of the point by the big rock. You could catch fish there all day long, they bite powerbait non-stop. The biggest I heard of from the point was 18 inches. There was a guy a while back that caught a 27 inch pig rainbow.
