I work not too far away and would love to meet up with you for my lunch. I only get an hour but I can stretch it out a little longer if the fishing is good. I will try to get out there a little before noon. I'm pretty new to fly fishing so hopefully you can show me a thing or two.
Do I need to bring my waders or do you just fish from shore?
Look forward to meeting you tomorrow.

hey utahman,
glad you will be able to make it. no you wont need waders as wading, floating etc is not allowed
at willow. the fishing fron shore can be very good cause that is what this pond was designed for. I'm pretty new to flyfishing also (little over a year), but I will be glad to share
what I know.[ ][ ] I've learned so much from this forum. Every one is willing to share and that is why this forum is so successful and will continue to be.
seem ya tomorrow

Hi Nathan, I can tell you this. If you are coming from the EAST, go to State Street and 6400 south. The GREAT BIG flag on the south east corner.
Head west on 6400 for quite a ways. You will come to a light, continue straight through the light. There will now be a Mobil Park "Winchester Estates" on your left and a Golf Course on the right. Got to the end of the golf course (Chain Link Fence) If you cross a bridge you just missed it.
Turn right and head North up over the Freeway and to your right you will see the park. Go to the South East corner of the parking lot.
If you are coming from the WEST. Go to 6200 So. and turn East bound. Go to light at 1300 West, and turn right. Go a little ways to WINCHESTER, then head east again till you see the corner of the Golf Course or just over a bridge.

If you are coming from the north use 5400S.(5300S if coming from the east.) Turn south on 1300W, east on Bullion, and South on Murray Park. the park is on the east.
I will be there about 8:30. Look for the guy in a tan fishing vest with a BFT patch on the pocket.

I already got plans for tomorrow. Gonna go to a charity event for shelter animals. If it were anything else, I'd probably try to get out of it for fishing instead. But I love my kitty-cats ^_^ (the furry kind, not the scaled "kitties" as Pat calls them LOL)

Nice to meet you Pa and thanks for the casting tips cast-tothe-left. Too bad the fish weren't cooperating while I was there. At least the guy I brought with me from work caught one. That was enough for us to decide to try to make it a weekly lunch outing. I might also try to hit it early in the morning before work from time to time.

Joni, I missed a couple of hits too. Pa pointed you out to me. I walked past you a couple of other times before that but I wasn't sure if it was you. I should have just said something. I was the guy in the red fleece. We were in the parking lot leaving about the same time as you. I won't be so shy next time.

He guys, I was using my Winston today and my Vosseler, so as usual, when I got home I cleaned my rod and wiped down my reel. Decided to lube my reel while I was at it. IT IS FULL OF SAND. So, I rinsed it out, dried it off and dressed my line which was DIRTY! from one days use, so I cleaned my usual outfits.
I am just telling you all to please check your gear. An ounce of prevention.......so on and so on.

[ ] I guess I was the last to leave the willow.....but it was great to meet Pa, fly goddess, and Utah man. I didn't catch many but I did catch a couple of regular rainbows, one albino, and where you left me Pa I caught one more....it was a nice brook trout. Didn't know there were any of them in there.
And another man said he caught some bass there. Does willow also contain bass?
anyway.... I had a good time....

Question: The willow sounds crouded at times, how crouded does it get?

It can get real crouded at times especially Saturday and Sunday afternoons. I was there this morning (Saturday) and it wasn't too bad.
