ALEXANDRIA, MN-Illinois icemen Mike McNett and Tony Boshold claimed top honors at the fifth-annual North American Ice Fishing Championships Dec. 17-18 on Lake Mary.
Seventy-five of the planet's top ice fishing teams battled for a $20,000 first-place payout and bragging rights for the coming year.
Produced by Ice Team, the championship pits qualifiers from last season's Super Trap Attacks against one another in a two-day scramble for the heaviest cumulative weight of crappies (Day One) and sunfish (Day Two).
McNett and Boshold brought 18.70 pounds to the scale during the event. Second-place finishers Ryan and Tom Fischer of Wisconsin iced 17.61 pounds.
