Back from Strawberry.....
#1
Got up to Strawberry about 11:30 and the sun was shining bright, not a clou in the sky but there was some wind. Took my wife and baby so no hard core fishing but did manage to land a couple nice Cutts and missed a bunch of strikes.

Motored over to Haws Point and anchored up about 40 yds. from shore, too windy for the fly rod so I threw some spoons into the shore and reeled back out, missed a nice Cutt right at the boat on a Rainbow Krocodile, switched to a silver Kastmaster and nailed one, kept throwing it and had a bunch of hits but no hookups. The bite turned off shortly after that.

Took a little break and then headed back out to the main bay, just let the boat drift and threw a Pot O' Gold Rainbow Spoon and caught another nice Cutt, wind started to really pick up so we decided to trailer up and head home. Not the greatest day of fishing but a great day to be out with the family. Remo

Didn't see any Kokes' being caught, there weren't that many boats out on friday, but I passed alot heading up the canyon on my way down. I think they fish are still pretty shallow where the water temps are a little warmer.

[cool][#0000ff]It is good for your family that you hit the water later than daybreak. It was only 22 degrees on my car thermometer when I passed the Ladders at about 6 AM on my way to Starvation. [/#0000ff]

My thoughts exactly, it was still pretty chilly when we arrived and the wife was a little worried about the cold, the sun was nice and warm though and hen the wind wasn't blowing (not often) it was quite warm. I can fish in any weather but when the wife and baby are on board it needs to be warm. Remo

It was cool in the morning! My son and I went to Renegade Bay float tubing. It was 26* at 8:00, water temp. 52. We each caught 4 fish, 4 rainbows and 4 cutts. One rainbow was 14" and real fat, It will grow up to be a nice football![Wink] The cutts were alll in the slot. We used brown, black, green, and yellow wooley buggers. I will attempt to add some pics. as soon as I find the right cord.[:/] Only fished till 11:00 due to the wind. We ended up going shooting for a while with his new 22. Sniper shooting ground squirrels at 50 yds. was a lot of fun.[laugh]

I went to Renegade (I think) I don't know my way around that lake (been 10-12 yrs. since I was last there) and there were still 5-6 tubers out there. Sometimes I really miss my pontoon. Glad you had a good day, I didn't even rig my fly rod due to the wind.

Of course, don't you guys fish like that?[Wink] Too cold to walk in it so I just walk on it.[Smile] I was standing on the swim platform on the back of my boat.
