Where is Tibble Fork reservoir?? And is it a good place to toon and tube?

Tibble fork is up American Fork Canyon. Take the left hand turn a few miles past Timp Caves. It's a very small reservoir but fine for toon and tubes. I'd suggest avoid the weekend as it gets very crowded this time of year. It's $6 to get into AF Canyon now same as Mirror Lake.

Never been there, as I didn't want to pay the access fee for the canyon. However, in case you didn't know how to get to American Fork Canyon, here is a map and directions to the lake from I-15 in Salt Lake.

now about the fees....it is $6 per car per day use.
I bought the annual fee...which was $26 this spring(don't know if it went up with gas price or not).
It is a quick/ close lake to floattube or toon. The weekends are packed there because of how close it is and there are great picnic areas all the way up the canyon to tibble. Hence the weekends are filled with families and 4 wheel vehicles.

Pa, it is a great little lake for tubbing with Brown and bow. Wind kicks up most every afternoon.
Like mentioned, close and COOL! and the scenery is awesome. I was tubbing once up there with a moose a few feet behind me.
Shore fishing can be much like Willow, however I am sure the moss has crowded the banks right now like everywhere else.
ALSO, if you keep following the dirt road just to the left of Tibble, about a mile or so up that dirt road, is another little lake called Silver Flats. Also great fishing and again COOLER!

I always opt. for the season pass cause less then 5 trips and it has paid for itself, plus it is good from the month you purchase to the follow year same month.

Speaking of moose there....
I was fishing it on wednesday in my float tube before the fourth of July weekend.... A young calf moose ate in the willows along side of the stream for over an hour. Didn't see mamma moose...was surprised to see a moose that young feeding alone.
I had a great time catching the rainbow planters and a brown every now and then.
The water is still very cold coming into the reservior.

The season pass went up to $45 and is now good in AF Canyon and also the Uintas.

I second Joni's suggestion of heading up the road a little further to Silver Lake Flat. The crowds are smaller and it doesn't get the same pressure. But above all that, I just have a thing for brook trout. I have never caught any with much size but I know there are some in there. I would rather fish at SLF than Tibble just because of the chance to catch a few brookies. Personal preference I guess. I just think that they look cool. I haven't been up there for about a month but PM me if you want more info. When are you heading up? I'd love to get up there again if someone would give me a good excuse to take a day off work. []

Or better yet, hike up from Silver Lake Flat up to Silver Lake. You'll get into brookies up there.

The DWR planted arctic grayling in there back in Aug. 2006 and again last July. They also have planted brook trout and rainbow trout pretty much every summer up there.

Silver Lake is on my "to do" list, just never seem to have the time. I have a hard enough time getting away for a few hours of fishing here and there so a hike really cuts into the fishing time. All the more reason to just bite the bullet and take a day off work I guess. Has anyone ever hauled a float tube up there? How long and difficult of a hike is it?

Haven't been up there since I was 11 but hauled my backpack up there for the night as a scout. Seems like most of the hike wasn't that bad but there were some rocky and steeper areas.
