pineview
#1
Spent 4 hours on pineview yesterday. great weather if you like 20 mile and hour winds and rain in you face. saw about 8 muskies surface. all in different areas. fairly close to sure and wanted nothing to do with me or my fishing pole. not a bite. this is my ninth trip this year to pineview without even a nibble this year. crappie bass or tigers. ugh this lake has my number.

I too walked the pineview banks Tuesday for about 2 hours. I saw lots of carp up close to shore but no Muskie. I was tossing size 11 rapalas in a few different patterns, with no luck. My guess is that I have only put in 200 casts this year so far! Between the guys on the site lately, the muskie average casts might go up to 2,000!

Good luck muskie fishers!

I am right there with you Xman so you aren't without company. I only caught one this year and have thrown at least 5000 cast by now. The funny part is last year was my first time fishing for them and caught one within first 1/2 hour. I didn't think a whole lot of it. I have only ever caught 2 and the second did not come near so easy and I am beginning to wonder if there will ever be a 3rd.

I have only fished pineview once, but I cannot figure out for the life of me how to get tigers from shore???? I seen a couple in the willows, but seems nearly impossible to sneak to the cover to start casting. Any suggestions??? From what I understand, one of the best ways of targeting tigers is by targeting other fish and getting lucky????

I haven't really tried fishing for muskies yet, but man! I was fishing for crappie from shore, casting into some submerdged brush, everything was quiet, then SPLISH! SLASH! BAM! The muskie was trying to chase a school of fish right up to the shore. If I didn't know any better I would think Pineview had alligators!![shocked]-TIBBZZ-

He was 38" caught early morning before work off a rocky slide up closer to the deep stuff on the south shore. I think it was pure luck! This is definitely the first fish that I have put this much time in on and still feel like I have no idea what the heck I am doing. What is even worse is it seems like every where I go or every page I look at on the web there is some "Red Neck" looking guy who is holding up a 40+ incher. Maybe it is because they only bite from 9-5 on week days and so only the unemployed can catch them. I don't know.

Well if that is true then maybe I have a chance. Wait you you said unemployed, I'm retired but now looking. Hey you said renneck looking, I might resemble that remark after a day fishing. BTW I will be heading up Sunday as the mrs has to work so we will be doing Mothersday on Sat. this year. Going to try and float me a fish. Look out Muskies here I come!

I do not have a musky picture yet. I rarely get a picture of a fish because I fish alone 90% of the time. I went steelhead fishing this weekend and and caught a number of huge beautiful steelhead on a fly rod. Sad part is I only got one picture because my buddy came by that hole right as I caught one on a dry. And yes we do need to get out. I am going to try for Friday the night of the 16th if you are interested.

I will try again this weekend . I thinking saturday . I want the worst weather this weekend can dish out . I might just target bass and anything willing to bite .But this time I will make some steel leaders for my jigs , and will be packing 3 rods . So fish beware ............... Pineview foot soldier

Tightline I fish alone 90% of the time , but you can still take a picture . Just its hard to get the fish and you in the pic .
