I'm heading up to the Upper Logan next Friday (near Tony Grove / Red Banks).
Has anyone fished up there lately?
I haven't seen many reports from up there for a while.
I'll let you know how I do.

The Logan is simple. Put any dry on the water ,catch fish.Where? it is best fished
in areas that someone has not been through it before you.

that sounds good, room for my 3 kids is always a bonus. I'm looking at a generic map of the canyon and see the first dam, but it does not identify the 2nd dam. Where is the 2nd dam?

Second Dam is just upstream from First Dam, seems like only a mile or 3. Also driving up the canyon just before the turn off to the girl scout camp, there is a big house on the left. It sits on a left hand curve in the road.
Walk down his chain link fence line (down stream side of property) to the river, and fish upstream from there. There is some nice holes and trees hanging in the water. I fished that many times 25 years ago.

That sounds great. Thanks for the info. My reunion is at some boy/girl scout camp or church camp site or something. I wasn't interested until my wife told me I didn't have to stick around during the day. I'm looking forward to hitting the Logan for the first time.

I think you might find red banks area to be better fly fishing for you.
2nd dam would be better for kids.

THat section across from Tony GRove is fairly decent- Red Banks is up the road from there - very popular.

I found a better map online of Logan canyon and see it has the red banks campground identified. Thanks for the suggestions, if anybody has any other suggestions please let me know. I'll give a report when I get back.

While fishing the upper Logan please release the Cutthroat and if you want to harvest take all the Browns you can within the legal limit. The Browns are starting to take over on that little stream. The Cutts could use all the help you can give them to hang on.
