Cold front
#1
I live in DFW area of Texas, and it's been HOT. Recently a cold front blew through and the Temp. dropped from 95ish to 80. Unfortunately, the front is gone. Now the Temp. is back up to 95. With this dramatic temperature change, is there any specific kind of fishing I should do?(tackle, depth, ect.)

Thanks,
Bassmasta

Sometimes the sudden changes will give the fish lockjaw for a few days. Other times you will find that they hang out more around the lower area of ledges.[cool]

It could be difficult to see them unless you have a contour map of the lake that you are fishing.

You may remember fishing there another time and finding out that you suddenly snag on something and are sure that it isn't a log. That could usually be a ledge or just a rock.

Your best bet is to rent or borrow a small boat and attach a fish finder. Go over the areas that you can cast to from the bank and take note of them. That will give you a better idea of the structure and depth that is out there.[cool]

I've generally had good luck fishing as a cold front (low pressure system) approaches and the barometer (atmospheric pressure) is falling. The bite always seems to stop after the front passes though... toward the end of the rain or after the rain is over.

Watch the barometer carefull. Fishing will turn on when it is rising and falling.[cool]
