Keeping with the family tradition, I let my boy (Kayote II) stay home from school to yak fish at Red Fleet today. I'm sure he learned more on the water than in the classroom. We have a deal, as long as he gets straight A's, he can stay home any time he wishes. Me, I just stay home when I get a wild hair LMAO. Water temp was 60, air temp mid 70's, partly cloudy and breezy. It was a wide open rainbow trout (billy bass) bite. Beautiful day to be on the water. It became summer in the Basin overnight. The largemouth were tougher, but we caught many. Kayote II completely outfished the old man, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Bass were taking crayfish jigs on the points. Rainbows were taking cranks and spinners. It was so nice, I didn't wear my waders or wetsuit. I then proceeded to sunburn the heck out of my legs. Will be taking off next week to have the melanomas excised. I wouldn't trade a day like that with my son for anything in the world. Life is very very good. Please forgive the excessive pics, but I just had to share.
