Fly Fishing Southern Utah
#1
I'm going to be in Glendale (between Zion and Bryce) in mid October with some friends. We were thinking of doing some fly fishing but we're not sure if there are good (or any) trout streams in that area (I assume the rivers at lower elevations are too warm for trout). We've seen there is some good fishing North-east of Bryce, but we're looking for something closer to Glendale.

Any suggestions?

Are there any fly shops in the area?

We're coming in from Las Vegas, so we will be passing through the St George area; are there any fly shops in that area?

Thanks for any responses

There is a Sportsmans Warehouse in St. George that may have a fishing report for down in that area, I don't fish down south so I can't help you with any streams, you may want to send a PM to Riverdog he fishes down there quite often. Good luck

Lots of small creeks and solitude while fishing to be found in that area. North Fork of Virgin contains trout above Zion and will probably be the closest. If you go north a bit Asay and Mammoth Creeks along with the other tribs to Sevier River and the Sevier itself have trout. Good Luck.

Thanks for the responses and info. It sounds like there is enough trout streams and rivers in the area to make it worth bringing the tackle along.
