Dolly Varden in Henry's?
#1
One of the guys posted a report on the Utah board about fishing another lake but in that report he made the statement below. Has anyone ever heard of DV being in that lake?

"My parents hit Henry's Res. on Saturday, they went to our old fishing hole, Mom caught 4.4 lber and My uncle caught the fish of the day a 6.3 lber. they said fish were hitting big time.
And Mom caught a dolly Varden 2lber. Haven't seen any of them in there for quite a while."

NO Dolly Varden in Henrys. There are brook trout but absolutely no dolly varden. I don't know of anywhere near here that has them.

Everet is right. they are brookies, not dolly varden. They are in the same family but different species.
The closest thing that we have in Idaho to a dolly varden is a bull trout, but none of those in the upper snake drainages either. Some people think that bull trout, dolly varden and even arctic char are the same species, but they are actually different species, even though they can look very simmilar.

Here's a link to the IDFG fish stocking info. you can see what they put in there since 1967. go to upper snake region, all fish stocking info, and all fish types, then select Henrys Lake. They have (and still do) planted lots of brookies, cutts, and cut/rainbow hybrids, but no Dollies. (at least since 1967, I can't say for sure before that, but I seriously doubt it.)
