This site is a little too quiet. It has been unseasonably warm here and I have been out tooning, so I figure some of you have had to be out also.
Come on let's hear something, anything, even new mods to tube/toons or wish list.

It has been quite quiet...
I just got a smokin' deal on an older version of my Creek Co. ODC816 'toon. Came with a Scotty rod holder, oar rests, and gear bag for the works. It's the version with less pockets on the 'toons but a folding sling style seat which packs much more compact than the molded plastic one. I've been eyeing those for a while.
The duffel and the accessories are worth what I paid for the package so I can't go wrong really.
Now all I have to do is figure out which of all the assorted mix 'n match parts are better, and sell the leftovers to the good (I'm guessing...).
I'll be getting wet on Sunday so hopefully I'll have something to post about!

[cool][#0000ff]Haven't been out this week, but have been busy pouring and painting jigs, tieing jigs and flies, building rods and all around tackle tinkering.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Headed up to Bear Lake tomorrow morning to tube up some of those feisty Benneville whitefish. Report and pics to follow.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]PS...Those whities hit flies and are in less than 10 feet of water. Running to over 20 inches right now.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]EDIT: Changed plans. Forecast shows temps under 20 and SW winds of 7-8 mph early...and getting worse. I am a bit of a masochist, but not that much. Those whities can wait for a better forecast.[/#0000ff]

Plus im a hunter and i have in the woods alot lately. Looks like im gonna pack it in for the year. Now i cant wait for spring so i can take my toon to Lake Erie for some really nice smallmouth.

It's 12 degrees today. My tube is packed away and probably won't get any use again until March or April. I hope it doesn't rot or break over the winter. I've only had it a year. I still have never caught a fish from my tube.

I hope so. I like going out and kicking around and casting. But I haven't even come close to catching anything out there. I did have a largemouth attack one of my flippers a few weeks ago. That was exciting. Other than that, I just paddle around and then eventually come back to shore.

I have not been out lately.
There will be no problems with ice here in Ireland. We may get a week of that in Jan-Feb, and only in a few places.
I have had problems with autumn gales. Any time I've been off work, the winds have been over 20mph.
It settles down from now on, and this week has seen things come right.
I should get a bit of piking in over the weekend.
Will bring camera..

Was hoping to make it out today but I kind of killed the car in a crash Tuesday night so I'm stuck at home.[crazy] Maybe next week.

Moved everything on the front right corner of the Explorer either up or back or both. Shifted everything enough my wife had to get out on the drivers side as her door was stuck closed. Everyone walked away without injury and only the cars got hurt. The gentleman I hit was calm and polite and the truck he hit although not damaged stayed to tell the police what happened that caused the accident. Our accident caused more trafic that caused another accident so it took the police a long time to actually get to our accident.
The bad part is as usual the car that started it all only got tapped by someone and tore off without seeing if anyone was hurt or taking responsibility for what they did.

Ouch! Seeings how it is slow tubing, that brought up an accident I had a few years ago. I was on the freeway in a ROCKY (small SUV with about a 4' wheel base). I was in the far right lane, and there was an Explorer in the middle. The freeway curved, but he was on the phone and didn't. The truck behind me saw the whole thing. He crossed into my lane and I bounced off of him. Tried to stay in my lane and bounced off again. This point, I am heading for the bridge and a pretty devastating drop off.
Slammed on the brakes with both feet and spun in circles all the way across the freeway, missing everyone (this was at noon).
Long story short, the policeman said he could site us both?! WHAT?! The Explorer for not staying in his lane and me for loosing control of mine!
Ended up we each had to fix our own vehicle, even though the truck behind me told the cop, the Explorer crossed over and hit me.

I got lucky that the officer decided not to site anyone and just write it up as traffic.
