I really enjoy doing the ice fishing thing, but at times my fly rod calls my name. I have to plans to head somewhere on Monday, but I am not sure where.

Has anyone been out lately???

The usually winter places- Provo, Weber and possibly the Green if you have the time will all probable be fairly crowded. If you're looking to get away from people you might consider fishing some of the small streams nearby. I got off early today and needed to pick up some salt water fishing supplies down at Cabelas so I grabbed the dogs and fly gear and fished American Fork for an hour before doing my shopping. The lower canyon was all shade even at 1pm but above the turnoff for Tibble Fork reservoir there was a lot of sun. I fished above Tibble since the road is closed further up and I didn't have to worry about vehicles with the dogs. Beautiful day up there with temps in the low forties. Picked up a half dozen browns and 1 rainbow on size 12 -14 hares ear and prince nymphs. Now the fish where all 8- 12 inches so nothing to brag about but overall a great time out. I imagine Millcreek and Big Cottonwood conditions would be very similar right now. I'm heading down to the southwest corner of the state to go camping with my son but if I where sticking around I'd also consider places like Diamond Fork and Thistle Creek with the warmer weather that should still be around this holiday weekend.
