went up again today to hit them splake.. got there, walked out to the spot.. we were on the ice by sun up.. good thing to it was cold this morning there..
well after missing 2 or 3 hitt's i poped a 22" splake.. was feeling good about that one.. droped back down about 30 min's later i was jigging my jig and i droped the pole down but my line stayed up set the hook.. then the fight was on!! after 20 min's of fighting this toad and 4 try's to get my hands on it to pull it out the hole my buddy finley got his hands on it and got it out! was a 27" close to 8 lbs splake!! that will be the new Ut state record C/R splake!! i hope[shocked]..
i guess we should have just packed it up after that tho.. the rest of the day was just bitty ones.. stayed a good bite tell about 1 pm. and slowed way down.. packed it up around 4:30 and headed home! we could not of asked for better wether, and no wind just a great day to be on the ice!
ok here are the pic's!

Did you actually get him back down the hole? He looks dead in the last picture.

Dude
That is awesome, I did not know anything about the Catch & Release records. I caught an 8 lb 9 oz Splake last spring and turned him loose after I kissed it.
Anyway, way to go Dude.

Congrats on two counts one catching - and the other releasing!
Big Fish R' Ron!!
It seems to me that you put in your hours on the hard deck so it's well deserved.
