DECKER AND VILORIA WIN SECOND STRAIGHT SWBA EVENT
#1
Berkley pros Jimmy Decker and Tracy Viloria earned the team's second consecutive victory on the Saltwater Bass Anglers event this past weekend of the shores of California's Catalina Island. The team pocketed a check worth $3,600 for their efforts. Decker and Viloria came from behind to beat the nearest competitors by nearly foir pounds of Calico bass.

"Our gear stood up to the test presented," said Decker. "We were field testing a pair of REVO Winch prototypes, spooled with 65-pound Spiderwire Ultracast, Fenwick Techna AV rods, and 7" Gulp! Jerk Shads. Every piece of equipment played a vital role in securing our second strait SWBA championship."

The Costa Mesa natives went into Day two 7 pounds below the Day one leaders. The team got into a 'ripping' bite on the 7-inch Gulp! Jerk Shads while fishing tight to the island. At one time they had a double going that went 11-pounds and continued to fish hard to reach their five fish limit with Tracy catching a personal best going 7.43 pounds. Decker and Tracy made the 12pm weigh-in with 25.53 lbs for a two-day total of 45.92 pounds.

"We fished with a pair of REVO Winch prototypes and they didn't let us down," Decker said. "The way these fish were tearing it up, you would have thought any reel would have given in to the stress, but these REVOs didn't miss a beat."

The SWBA is an artificial only tournament trail that consists of seven events during the year. Angling teams of two anglers compete for fun, cash prizes and recognition among the world's top Saltwater Bass Anglers.
