Headed to the middle this morning about 8:30. Headed to meet my brother in-law at his honey hole

Beautiful day even with temps at around 10 degrees. Got to the honey hole and fish rising all over, but couldn't buy a netting. A few long distance releases.

We then headed down stream to a spot we have had good luck on.

Guides started icing up so we headed home after a couple of hours.

Did manage to net four nice little brown:

That looks damn cold Joni. Looks like fun too though. I might have to get out the fairy wand and hit the river with the inversion setting in.

Great fishing! We were skunked the other day on the MP. We were nymphing with bd hares ears, midges, discos, scuds. Only got a few hits on some sow bugs. Then tried black, chartreuse and brown whooly buggers. None to the net though. Can't wait till it warms up! Looks like you had fun! BTW, I really like the furled leaders you sent a week and a half ago, especialy the uni-mono. Thanks[Wink]

Good to see you hooked a few!
Were you catching them on drys?
I have been up that way a few times lately but everything has come from underneath. The risers have been few and far between, from what I’ve seen anyway[:/].

Sure has been pretty up that way though, but the fishing has been tough.
Thanks for the report!

I think I may have saw you out there that day in the parking lot at the bunny farm. I pulled up and there were too many cars, so I went across the street to river road and hiked down a ways and had a really productive days swinging midge soft hackles. Probably 3 fish on dries and 6 or 7 on the soft hackle.

Glad you found some fish up down there. I have been up above and very few fish rising around cottonwood and the wood bridge.
