How many of you use a Transom Saver on your boat? My boat is 30 years old and most of the roads around here aren't very smooth, so I was thinking one of them might help. I don't know which brand is the best but I was kind of thinking about building one myself.
Those of you that use them do you put on on the main motor and the kicker motor or is on one the main motor good enough. Thanks for any help, Jake.

I would use one for sure. The old mounting plate might get week and then you have problems.

I have one on the primary motor on my 14' aluminum boat. I had to replace the wood in the transom when I bought it d/t rotted wood. I then received a nice cheap basic $19 transom saver from a friend and I don't have to worry about the motor bouncing and messing up my new transom nearly as fast.

Thanks guys for the info. I will have to find a few on the net and see what they look like. Does it matter what kind you get or all they all pretty much the same? If they are too much money maybe I will just try to build one myself.

This is the one I purchased 2 years ago. No problems with it.
