Update on Stream Bed bill
#1
http://www.le.state.ut.us/.../hbillhtm/HB0187.htm

The bill is out! Well, sort of. It was numbered and released without text. More info can be found here about this as well:

Please don't assume everyone else is out doing the work for you. If you want to keep your rights, make your voice heard! There is a legitimate chance that our rights will be legislated away if we ALL do not make our voices heard. We are up against a very powerful lobby, but the people still have a voice in this cause. If you haven't contacted your representative and senator, do it today! Let them know that reversing Conatser and restricting the public's right to recreationally use what we own (the water) is unacceptable!

I agree. We need to make ourselves heard.

As your links, TS30, don't seem to be working, let me add that you can go to www.le.state.ut.us (also legislature.utah.gov works) main page and find the bill text by using the bills menu on the main page. It is numbered as HB 187 and is currently a "boxcar", one of our legislature's perversions of democracy where they can hide the details of a bill but still give it place on the calendars. Sometimes they sneak contorversial bills in this way and only spring the details out at the last minute, so we need to stay on top of this. You can actually set it it up to have emails automatically sent as the bill progresses from the bill's specific page. Note the WebWatch section at the bottom of the page.

Be aware that you can also look up the legislators from you district and find out how to contact them. We need to let them know we're here if we are going to counterbalance the influence of the property owners.

Go to HB0187 from this link and then at the bottom, you can sign up for updates to be automatically sent to you. We are still waiting for the contents of the bill to be released.

Here's the bill. All in it's total ugliness. The Utah legislature seems to hate outdoors persons. Someone's got some big bucks backing this ugly baby. Any fisherman/woman really needs to read this crap and call their representatives. Whether or not you fish moving water. Seems just to be a start. This bill needs to be stopped in it's tracks.
Please take the time to read it. You're fishing future could depend on it.
