Someone suggested I add a seat post so I sit a little higher on the water and maybe make flipping for bass a little easier. How much does adding a seat post to a pontoon boat change how it works? I have an Outcast Fish Cat Cougar, so it’s very stable. I’m not worried about it getting tippy (I can’t imagine how freaked out I would have been in forgiven’s situation.) but I’m wondering if it will make rowing harder? Is there anything else I should be aware of? I looked at a 7” post the other day and it seemed surprisingly long. Anyone have an experience or advice to share?

I say given where the Oar mounts are it will make it.....different to row, not to mention any kind of fin work.
Anyway, can you figure out an adjustable seat? One that you can drop down for rowing or finning and raise when to a spot.
I realize it would be tricky trying to get it up while trying to balance LOL
I am thinking like a computer chair. Maybe put some standing plates on the front foot pegs so you can lift your rear and raise the seat.

I would have to say no. I'm not so mechanically inclined, if you know what I mean. Ha! Very good idea though. They have adjustable boat seat posts, of course; but those are long and slender and made for the deck of a bass boat. I don't know what one could use for a pontoon.

A high seat will catch the wind more ...... possibly a semi yacht conversion?
