What a crock, how many trails and bike paths do we need in the city??? I live in Eagle Mountian (ranches) What we need is better freeway access from northwest Utah county. I work by the SLC airport, if it snows it takes me 2+ hours to get to work because the State road cant take all the traffic. Then when you get to the freeway its a mad house until the 215 split. It really chaps my hide to see all the big cites getting money for there "necessary" projects. And we (the people who live on the north west side of Utah county) get the shaft!

Noone is giving anyone the shaft in this case. If your city or county doesn't have any projects on there, blame your city/county governemnts.
Those listed are 'proposals' sent in by those cities. They are not yet approved or guaranteed to get the funds they are asking for -- but the ARE asking. If Eagle Mountain or Lehi or Utah County needs $$$ for road projects out there (which I agree 1000% they do need), then they need to simply ask for it.

Your right, I guess that post sounded a littel huffy. I feel very pasionate about the issue. When I read some of the projects on that list it made my blood boil. I guess all that energy would be better spent @ city hall.

I went and made some comments on that site. I think many have inflated price tags, hoping to get easy federal money.
One less than 1/4 mile road expansion in Orem was requesting $10,000,000, and said it would provide 500 jobs. Sounds like bull to me.

I know we are not to discuss politics here on BFT.
But thats our tax money! Stolen money plain and simple.
I saw the website "Stimulus Watch", whatever they want to do with your money.
So tired of Americans being such retards and doing nothing but playing spectator with the government. Come on guys lets not let our government spend our money on what they think is right for us.

The Utah Weatherization program is receiving almost $39 million which will create some 300+ jobs and improve the energy efficiency of about 6,000 homes of the elderly, disabled and other low-income residents by 30%-40%. Those savings are ongoing over the life of the home in many cases. They will do attic, wall & floor insulation, air sealing and install 90% - 95% efficient furnaces among other measures. Besides jobs it will result in conservation of fossil fuels, reduce greenhouse gases and preserve affordable and low-income housing. Such a deal!

$25 Million on a rec center? Wow. I want to play where they hand out 500 bucks to you just for walking through the door! Does this stuff seriously cost this much?
Jungle gym? I got some scrap metal I can build one out of PLUS recycle so its green too!
Pool? I can dig a hole and throw my garden hose in it. And use the dirt I pulled out for a nice new
King of the hill game? Yeah its the left over dirt! Green also.
