Willard sat.
#1
Met Chad MIller at 5:00 sat. morning. Ate a big breakfast and was putting the boat in the water at 6:45.
Watching the GPS we went straight to the spot where I hookded up with some fish Friday.
We didn't have the lines in the water more than 5 minutes when Chad hooked an eye with a lindy rig. Unfourtunatly the fish came unbuttoned.
A few minutes later my bouncing rod got and ever so slight bend to it. Feeding the fish until I felt weight I swept the rod and felt a solid thud.
Nice 21 1/2 inch healthy eye.
All right this was going to be a great day [cool]. And it was except the catching went down hill from there.
In the nexted couple of hours I had two more bites. Hooking one and loosing it and missing one. Chad had a hit on a crank and couldn't keep the hooks in it [crazy]
Bad luck but thats fishing.
Weather was confortable, slight wind, water temps 47 degrees and good company.
We did release the fish.
Chads a really nice guy. Good thing [Wink]. Seeing as we are going to be spending 10 or 11 days to gether on that trip to N. Dakota for the Cabelas NTC.

Chad did take a pic. Maybe he'll be kind enough to add it to this post.

PS: Brodie called me while on the lake and I told him where we were at. He had two eyes when we left. I believe a 23 and a 19 incher, both on cranks.
He did release the 23 incher. I'm proud of him [cool]
He is teachable [Wink]

Thanks for posting your report Roger, good to see you on the pond[Smile]. We were just coming into the marina as you were packing up, by the time we loaded up you were gone[frown]. When that wind changed to the North, I told the guys to hang on, the waves were going to get rough[Wink]. We caught the eye near the spot where we last saw you. When we finally got to the SW corner the water temp was almost 50* and that was where we caught the wiper. I would bet the guys that go out to day will do good[cool]. WH2

You and I kind of fish the same way. Thats a good thing (as Forrest Gump would say) [laugh]
Looks like the weather's going to take a turn for the worse this week. So I'm going to hit Willard one more time this morning. Might as well make it 5 days in a row [Wink].
Thanks for posting the pics. Nexted time get the fish and leave the old grey haired guy out of it [shocked]
I talked to my son about you fishing with him for the Starvation tourney. He dosen't know what he's going to do yet but you've got first shot at it if your interested.
Let me know as FOD was intersted in fishing with Mike as well
Mike knows the lake as well as I do and I'm sure he can put you on some fish.

Chad:
The date is the 9th. of May. It's a one day deal. If Mike goes he'll come up fri. and get a little pre fishing in. I don't know if he will stay sat. night or not. I will have the 5th wheel there so an over nighter will be an option for fishing sun.
Let me get with mike and see if I can't pin him down and get a yes or no out of him.
Geez, some times he takes after his mother. He sure didn't get this "can't make up his mind from me"
I'll let you know as soon as I can.
