I went out on Fir. for a couple hours in Rainbow bay. Just floated around in a 14' aluminum boat that we just got.No motor this trip. ( we wanted to find the leaks) My son caught a 1-1/2lb brown and a 2 lb. bow on corn powerbait. we fished from about 10-2. I got a bite on a worm but ended up skunked. The lake looks almost full pool. I will be hitting it hard in a couple weeks after graduation. Good luck. I will be waiting for your report.

I'm gonna be heading there in the morning with a couple family members. Sadly I am boatless so we'll just be soaking worms from shore probably, but any fishing is better than no fishing......

Yes we were fishing shallow. We caught them in 16' of water and less.

The shore fisherman probably will out catch the boats this time of year. The fish are cruising the shoreline.

Is deer creak a good walleye lake? I've never been there but was planning on going for trout. But if there are walleyes in there it would be a good bonus.

Theirs a bunch in there. Enough to hold tournaments in the past. Like everywhere in utah you have to fish it a little different. If you go for walleye you could catch some nice trout and bass on accident.

Went today with my son. Fished from 9 till noonish, not even a bite. Spent all our time in Walzburg bay and were fishing from shore. Tried powerbait, worms, corn flavored salmon eggs, green tube jigs with black speckles and a rainbow Kastmaster. Nothing. 4 other groups there didn't get a bite either.

Headed out to the Charleston bridge to see what was going on there, two fellows fishing there said they had just started but they were getting some bites on green powerbait.

Res is pretty full and there is a lot of crap floating around.

We were there and limited on Rainbows to 18'' and lost a huge Walleye at daylight. Fished the whole lake, bottom bouncers and trolled lures. Sure is nice for it to be full. Lost of brush structure now, good for the Perch and Eye spawns.

It's a good lake for walleye but you really have to put up with the "Power Squadron" on that lake. I think it still holds the current state record. I like to head out just at dusk and fish at night. You still have to be carefull for the idiots after dark as well. Several years ago I was headed in about 1 in the morning and thought I saw some kind of a light in the dark in the middle of the lake so I throttled down and went out wide and flipped my spotlight on and holy crap here is a bunch of kids setting in the dark watching videos on a small TV with no lights on their boat. They pulled into the park ramp just as I was pulling out with my boat so I asked them why they didn't have their lights on as I was headed right toward them. They said they were going to turn them on if I got any closer, they didn't know it was the law. I told them I was running about 50MPH and if I hadn't seen the light from the TV I probably would have hit them. DAIN BRAMAGED kids I'm pretty sure.[mad]

we target walleye in deer creek and get rainbow as a side note. The biggest walleye I've caught came out of DC. You can also get your share of smallmouths. It probably needs to warm up a little to be really good.
