dont know if yall know this or not, but if you head to a certified orvis dealer, you buy a certain rod (TLS, Helios) you get a free batten kill reel. saves you up to 300 bucks. i got a TLS 5 weights and a large arbor batten kill, backing, and sharkskin line, for 499 bucks. i believe the guy told me it ends the 15th of may, so you might want to ask around about it. i got mine at Ark Anglers in Pueblo CO.

Did you got for the TROUT or the GPX (GPX being 1/2 sized larger and shoots like a canon)?

I just bought a lamson radius 3.5 and an extra spool for my spey and my 8 wt rods and came home and said thanks for the reels I don't need anything else for mothers day So for fathers day I'll have her buy me the lines to fill the reels. Hopefully she will like them.
