Tonight was week five of six for the Orem youth fishing club. With the wind and waves most stayed in the harbor and away from the lake. About anywhere you can find a few weeds by the shore you can find fish. Tonight they caught Bluegill, Sunfish and Crappie. Most on plain worms but a small ice jig and a worm worked a little better. A worm fished on the bottom out farther caught some mud cats.
A big thanks to the owners of the Lindon Boat Harbor that lets the kids come two weeks to fish and learn at the harbor for Free.

Kids in my group caught a suprisingly good sized mud cat on a worm fished on the bottom and right before we left a small channel--small, but fat and healthy. I'll echo what Richard said and thank the owners for letting us use their facilities.

Really wanted to stay late last night as the fishing was picking up and the wind was down but the wife needed the car. Glad your kids got on to the cats a little. The mud cat I had actually hit a three inch jig I was working to find the white bass.
Would encourage anyone that has been thinking of helping out with the Youth fishing clubs in your town to give it a try. Wouldn't trade anything for the excitement and look on a little four year old as he caught three crappie on my pole as a school went through.
