Burbot and Sacramento Perch
#1
Can anyone provide details on how to catch the burbot in Flaming Gorge and the Sacramento Perch in Pruess Lake. I've also heard there are Sac. Perch in other lakes in Utah but can't find any accurate documentation. Any ideas? Thanks

I can help with the burbot, but I haven't heard any recent reports.

Target burbot during the twilight hours, just after sunset or before sunrise. Burbot densities are the greatest in the Wyoming end of the reservoir, especially between Anvil Point and Firehole. If you're in a boat, try using 2-3-inch curly tailed grubs or tube jigs in glow-n-the-dark mounted on a 3/8oz jig head. Tip the jig with bait like frozen sucker meat and even try artificial scents like Smelly Jelly. Jig the bait slowly near the bottom in 20-50 ft of water off rocky structure. If from shore, try a slip sinker rig using a floating glow jig head to keep the bait just off the bottom. I think the key is to have glow and stink, so it helps to frequently change your bait and recharge the glow in your jig using a LED flashlight.

Hope it helps, Ryno
