I've been moving apartments this past week so I haven't fished much or reported really. I've been above the dam a few times with a few different people. It's been mostly largemouth with a few keepers sprinkled in. When Pointer went with me (our PE teacher) she managed a 17 inch largemouth and 17 inch smallmouth. Ben Nordmeyer, who I hadn't seen in over 10 years, dropped in as he was staying in overnight. He's a pilot and never knows where he might get to spend some time. He caught some decent smallies and largemouth and missed a bunch more. When I say a bunch more, I mean probably at least 15.

All of them are coming on shad, and the bait is much easier to keep alive in the morning than in the evening. I'm not enjoying carrying the shad in coolers right now, although I'm pretty sure it's keeping me in shape. The sweat is hard to describe in the 95 degree heat when you carry the coolers around.

I went below the railroad bridge this morning and managed only 4, with 1 keeper largemouth. I missed most of the schooling action as I was messing around at the face of the dam for awhile. 3-4 other folks were out and having pretty good luck on topwater baits. Flow wasn't quite what I wanted, but it was nice checking things out as I have not fished below the dam from the bank yet this year.

By the way, I live 5 minutes from the dam now, you might see me around
