Pineveiw 6/27
#1
Hit Pineveiw on Saturday with high hopes of hooking a decent Musky well almost got it done.I got on the water later than oldcoot suggested, way later actually, 10:00AM I think and the power squadren was in full force by then and muddying up the shorline from the waves.
I was only able to fish for about 5hrs and I put in about 500 casts. and had 3 follows and two hits.I was using a swim bait and was casting it in tight to the shore and working it out, stopping it and letting it sit on the surface then jerk it for a few reels and let it sit again,The two hits came when I would jerk the bait just under the surface. It was very exciting to see the fish come up and follow the bait, they would get with in twenty feet of the boat and then disappear into the depths, saw two just sitting in the tops of some weed beds as I went over the top of them they swam off. because I was up there for my 21st Annivarsary I didn't get out again. But was happy with my first time results really fishing for them.
Big thanks to Oldcoot and Lunkerhunter2 for pointing me into some fishey area's.Thanks allot guys for your pointers.Next time I will actually be able to get out there at O dark thirty and have a better chance I think.

Swim bait? Humm ... now that is a new one on me but hey, them TM's will eat anything within reason.

One more thing, for those musky that follow to the boat but don't take the lure, try the figure 8 trick:

Yep the one I showed ya.They seemed to like the look of it and followed it for aways but like I said only got two swing and misses on two that came out of know where and grabbed it or tried to.lol. I also tried what Brody told me to use,and the bait I told you I had,I trolled the last 45 minutes all the way to the no wake bouys by the dam, don't know about a few bumps I got could have been snagging on the points. it was tuff to stay in the depth you told me without snagging.[Wink]
I think your right about them eating anything.
