I went to Pineview the other day, and tried to drive to Cemetary Point, but the guy wanted to charge me 10 bucks just to get out there to fish! is there another way out there, or is there a better guarenteed spot to catch some fish? all help is very apprecitated. Thanks!

I purchased a Utah Parks Pass for $75 that is good at places like Pineview, Willard, Jordanelle, and more. If you get out to these places frequently, especially with a boat, it's an excellent investment

Your state parks pass won't do squat at Pineview. You still have to pay the $10! Pineview ramps are all private.

My mistake, I thought that I had seen Pineview on the list but it's not. It's a good thing I find that out now rather than Saturday morning when I get there.

I have always wondered if you grandma or grandpa is buried at the cemetery. Do you still have to pay? Just a thought.

I'd say, if you're a strong swimmer, get some floaties and a backpack.[:p]Everywhere you go someone wants into your wallet. Money grubbing jerks!

You know, you asked for a "better guarenteed spot to catch some fish" and I would have to say that is on a guides boat and costs way more than $10. If I knew "guarenteed" spots, I'd be a guide. I was also wondering when cemetary point became gaurenteed to catch fish, if that's so I'm getting a seasons pass!
But, Pineview does have a few areas where you can get your line wet from shore but you take your chances as to if you catch fish or not.
Next time drive a little farther to where the reservior comes to back to the road. (Spring Creek) There is a pull off there and another a little farther up in the next cove that are public. Farther around the lake there is another access but little parking at the Middle Fork cove. Beyond that is access to Browning point, one of my favorites. and a little farther is the North Fork access.
Then down near the dam is "the narrows" where you can pull off and fish from shore.
You can also launch a Tube, Toon, Kayak or canoe at these places, which makes each one of them 10 times better. Last I knew these were not fee areas, maybe Browning point is.
This map was labeled by Tubedude.

I have the same abhorrence to ridiculous fees, especially since I already spend alot on gas and fising tackle. I feel the exact same way about cemetary point. Assuming you are coming from the south, instead of turning left in Hunstville to reach cemetary point, keep going straight and the road curves to the left following the contour of the reservior. You will see a couple pullouts to your left with little gravel parking lots bordered by white vinyl fences. They are free to use. Try those areas. I've had success with the tigers there this year. I even hike the raft, motor, and battery down the shore and just launch there. There are a couple areas so scope them out. The water is really high right now though so it is easy to snag.

Thanks a lot for the advice Troll! I actually tried Spring Creek two weeks ago, and lost a whole mess of lures in those crappy plants, then when i drove to browning point, the rode didn't turn like the directions, the road just stopped at a wood fence and had a small trail that led straight into the water under a bunch of low-hanging trees. And i don't have any kind of boat-ish device, so i'm at a loss there![crazy] And i don't know how to get to Middle Fork Cove lol. Pineview kinda sucks wit-out places to fish![:p]
