fishing last summer was a lot of fun. Great for the crappie and ok for the bass. I only fished one day but I had a great time. Most of the surrounding area is private land so a boat is helpful. I just fished out of my inflatable raft and paddled around. My buddy and I caught a bunch of Crappie and a dozen or so bass, one was decent size. Good luck if you go!

I am hoping to fish stek park one day then possibly Mann creek res the next. If I come from weiser or Mann creek res. can I get there. my blm map says I can but it doesn't show a road going around the res. only to it. I would like to be able to leave the res. by the south end towards Emmet

Hey everyone.
I'm new here but have been seeing/reading posts from many of you about the local fishing for some time now and it has been very helpful.(Im in Boise.) I was searching for a fishing report regarding Paddock and saw this post and decided it was time to sign up. Michael, did you end up going? How was it if you did? I am wondering about taking my family up for a weekend camp but dont know which road to take and I'm towing a power boat behind our mini van so I dont really want to get into 4 wheel drive roads. Are there trees to camp around or is it more of a dry, hot and baren geography like CJ? I cant tell from the satellite map on Google. Any suggestions on WHICH road to take and where the camping spots might be? Flyfishingfool, which side did you camp on? Thank you in advance! Cheers, [signature]

Was at Paddock about three weeks ago, water was low, most places only three feet.Fishing was poor, a few small crappie. Unless they have a way of filling the reservoir other than run-off, I think you would be wasting your time and gas. If you go also watch for snakes this year. I would fish Brownlee or Mann's Creek Grizz

Thanks Grizz
In your opinion what would be another place to check out? I am hoping to go to Mann Creek and possibly Steck Park ( for cats unless there is another place that might not be so busy) and then for a good float tube or canoe (with electric trolling motor). It will be my wife and I. I love the panfish especially crappie and blue gill. [signature]

You might check out Ben Ross, It is above Cambridge about 10 mile. I got some nice bass and croppie there last year. Bass is a trophy lake so you can't keep but one fish, but a fun place for a tube. Bottom line though is that you just can't beat Brownlee.

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions. It will save me some time and frustration by not going there!
