What color???

That can change with lake to lake or LM bass to SM bass, but I would try some in dark greens, whites and browns for a start...

For LM bass I like them in 5" to 6" and for SM bass I like them in 4", and for small mouth I like them wacky rig...

My favorite is watermelon with white lam. and rainbow trout, also I have many other colors. But it's all about having confidence in what your throwing.

Buy what looks good to you and try it, rigging also makes a big difference wacky, drop, texas, jighead, or straight hooking try them all and see what works for you.

Good luck and have fun-DC

So far this year, I've been thrilled with the senko on a drop shot rigged, hooked wacky. Been making me very happy with this set up. Color wise been using watermelon and some purple.

Any color can work from time to time, but that color would not be my first pick...

Chartreuse is used a lot when bass are on there beds, not cause the bass like that color but cause the fisherman can see it on or in the bass bed...

Is there a specific hook that works better for drop shots? I have rigged it with a couple different ones, but wondering what better drop shotters use.

I use Gary Yamamoto 4 " senkos in cinnamon with black flake for SMB . I believe the color code is # 176. I'll throw them T-rigged and weightless into the more snaggy areas. Another cool trick is to wacky rig the senko with a circle hook and put a bobber over top of it. The wave action will jiggle the senko in the fishes' faces. With the circle hook , they hook themselves ! This is a great way to fish with the kids. Just be sure to reel in the line until the rod loads up and then set the hook. Very important but subtle distinction when using circle hooks !

Learn to rig them weedless too. Wacky and weedless work great with senkos. I like to throw weedless when fishing cover. You can toss it in the thick stuff and not constantly hang up.

The best hooks I have found is the (Gary Yamamoto split shot hook ) in size #1 for wacky and the same type hook for drop shot but in size #3 ....

And I use an O ring for wacky rig and just hook the O ring that way you get more use or fish per senko...
